Artist's Comments
My Submission to the HP Art Project.
I was assigned Chapter 27, The Centaur and the Sneak from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The scene taking place here (in case you couldn't tell) is right after Umbridge discovers Dumbledore's Army and she has brought Marietta Edgecombe and Harry Potter to Dumbledore's Office. Corneilius Fudge looks on maliciously while Percy Weasley feverishly takes notes and Dawlish and Kingsley take watch (although Kingsley's memory charming Marietta for Dumbledore). I don't know if it happens in the books, but the portraits on the back wall are all sneering and pulling mean faces at Umbridge. If you look closely you'll see a (very vague) portrait of JK Rowling herself, as well as Ethan Hawksmoor's ancestor Hecate Hawksmoor who once served as Headmistress to the school. I specially like the angry/disturbed portrait making faces at Fudge and Umbitc..Umbridge.
and... am i wrong about this *not that it matters... since probably it can't be changed*
but... wasn't Marietta's haircolor strawberry blonde according to the books?
